Group IS Server Analyst

Our Clent a consultancy based in the south with projects across europe is currently looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated person for this role.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Responsible for Microsoft OS server hardware and software (including associated applications). This includes but is not limited to:
Proactive monitoring of server health to ensure ongoing server availability
Investigation and resolution of problems encountered or faults discovered
Maintenance of the server hardware and software
Ensuring that each server is correctly and consistently documented
Ensuring that all systems are backed up in line with policy
Developing, implementing and testing disaster recovery plans
Managing all peripherals connected to the servers including external storage units, UPS units and any related network cabling, switches, printers, etc
Active Directory management
Server application implementation, development and support including Exchange, IIS and SQL Server.

Qualifications/Experience:

Ideally Microsoft Certified System Engineer (2003 track) or equivalent experience
Degree level or equivalent qualifying experience
3 years experience managing a complex multi-site Windows based server infrastructure.
Essential Skills:

Detailed knowledge in a multi-site environment of:

MS Windows 2003 Server & IIS 6
MS Active Directory
MS Exchange 2003
Backup software (BackupExec) and best practice
TCP/IP (including LAN & WAN technologies)
Full Clean Driving License.
Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of the following applications would be advantageous; ISA Server, SharePoint Services & SharePoint Portal Server.
Knowledge of ITIL best practice (BS15000) and secure environments (List X and/or BS7799).
Knowledge of non-Windows OSs would be very beneficial (e.g. Linux or Solaris).

Willingness to work outside of normal company hours as necessary
Willingness to travel within Europe.
