This role requires a Project Manager with exposure to and experience of full development life cycle project management of large scale (in excess of ?3m) software related programmes. Experience within the Defence market and experience of managing significant sub-contractor elements would be an advantage
Responsibilities/Duties:
To ensure the timely delivery of a new and significant sized project from concept to delivery.
Work with key stakeholders and project members to ensure progress and delivery of products in accordance with agreed timescales, processes and procedures
Identify requirements, plan, control and monitor project throughput lifecycle
Prepare periodic reports for the programme and report these to key stakeholders
Prepare financial forecasts and supporting information and monitor expenditure
Manage resources allocated to project team
Maintain a project plan and risk and action logs.
Qualifications/Experience:
Comprehensive understanding and experience of the project management tools and approaches to manage complex, multi disciplinary projects.
Experienced in multiple full project lifecycles from concept to delivery ideally gained with a maritime project.
Preferably some involvement with training development projects.
Well versed in contract and commercial issues including compliance, quality, pricing, procurement and sub-contracting.
Familiarity with a variety of the technical and business strategy concepts, practices and procedures.
Strong technical background and understanding of key technical constraints and concepts.
A strong academic background is required, ideally degree level, preferably in Engineering or Science subject.
Essential Skills Required:
Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team of highly skilled and dynamic individuals to deliver solutions to complex and challenging problems.
Diplomatic with well honed interpersonal skills.
Results oriented.
Ability to prioritise own workload.
Proficient in the use of PC based office packages, and expert in the use of tools to support Project Scheduling.
Desirable Skills:
An understanding of the consultancy marketplaces, gained within a consultancy, training or project management role.
Qualities:
Flexibility is of paramount importance as the role will require travel within the UK and overseas (outside Europe).
